Hot Chip Lazy Vision

In my parody song titled, Hot Chip Lazy Vision, it is a song that goes over my daily life which is eating junk food and being lazy most of the time. I choose to write about this because I thought it was funny because of how relatable it can be to the audience. I had my friends listen to my lyrics and they really enjoyed it and they personally told me how it’s a "mood." This year was the first time I’ve ever used Pro Tools and I’ve learned a variety of new things such as, how to fade audio in and out, taking out vocals out of a song, normalizing audio in order to keep a constant amount of gain to a recording, and much more. One struggle I did come across was when I had to take out the vocals. It took me quite a while to find the right sample to nudge the right track to. The reason why I was having lots of trouble with it was because I wasn’t zoomed in far enough and I was using my mouse to drag the track around. In order for me to not run into this problem again I would definitely zoom in a lot more and click the "AZ button," so that I would be in keyboard focus mode. Also it would help if I used the keyboard shortcuts like "," "." to nudge the tracks.

There isn’t just one I am proud of with this project, I am proud of the overall work I put it in order to make my first ever parody. I am proud of how I was able to create my parody because it required lots of different steps to achieve the overall goal. From what I learned I’m sure that in the future I will probably make another parody just for fun and share it with my friends. Depending on what my career path will be, I will definitely apply my knowledge about using a new software to help me learn other softwares. I have used Final Cut Pro X (FCP) in the past to make animations, montages, and just overall editing and I can say that most of the terms that were on FCP have some similarities to what’s on Pro Tools (the audio part) and the main difference is how everything is formatted. This project has changed the way I look at other people’s art because whenever we look at something we tend to admire what we are seeing, but at most times we don’t really bother to look at the artist's process to make their art. This helped me look at art from a different perspective that it takes lots of time and imagination to create something.
